was born in the municipality of Malangas, Zamboanga del
Sur in the Philippines and raised 1/2 in Manila and 1/2 in Hollywood. She
resides in Los Angeles.

The first title offering in AISAREMA/Disorient Journalzine's Chapbook Series is SAFEHOUSES, a collection of poetry by Irene Suico Soriano. This collection brings together 40 pages of works that have appeared in Clamour- dyke 'zine, dekonstrukt 'zine, Disorient Journalzine, Flippin' - Filipinos on America (AAWW), Highways Traffic Report, LA Culture Net, Los Angeles Miscellany, Maganda, Philippines Free Press, Solidarity Journal, The World is Yours 'zine along with Irene's previously unpublished poems. The chapbook was designed by Jolene Niwa and Shiho Nakaza.

100% of the proceeds made from the sale of the chapbook will be used to develop, promote and sustain the Chapbook Series.
