Haiku for Shoes

pounding the pavement
my shoes are worn from walking
     upside down, backwards

crossing continents
connecting human spaces
     bamboo bends and breaks

     ---and sometimes

it's the asian me
for serene sunlight smiles
for the stranger one
true love is a matching pair---
     a new rhythm sound rising

dancing and leaping
our souls follow together---
     a path for new shoes
