Pasadena Gakuen is one campus of the Japanese Language School Unified System (Kyodo System). It is open to all students from age 5and up. Classes are held on Saturdays in the classrooms located at the Pasadena Japanese Cultural Institute. Classes begin at 8:45 a.m. and end at 12:15 a.m. "Listening and speaking" form the nucleus of the instruction, which also makes sure that the ability to "read" and "write" are learned. Children in the younger grades also learn children's songs.
