The Mayor’s Little Tokyo Community Development Advisory Committee (LTCDAC) had its annual installation dinner/meeting on January 23, 1997 at the Miyako Inn. Lisa Sugino, Program Director of the Little Tokyo Service Center Community Development Corporation, became the first woman to Chair this committee. Kats Kunitsugu is the new Vice Chair, Kitty Sankey the Secretary, and Frances Hashimoto the Treasurer. The Members-at-Large are: Goro Endo, Hayahiko Takase, Alan Furuta, and Albert Taira. Mr. Taira was the former chairperson.
Rita Walters, the Councilmember of the 9th District, Chi Mui, the Senior Field Deputy for State Senator Richard Polanco, and Randy Takasuka from the Office of the Mayor also attended this event.
Public Safety Update
During the recent holidays, there were a series of window smashing and break-ins in Little Tokyo. However, with the help of the Little Tokyo Public Safety Association, the LAPD, and the Japanese Village Plaza security guard, the perpetrator was caught. Thank you for your great work in making our community safer!
