Little Tokyo Happenings
Public Safety Update
The Koban has acquired 9 bicycles to assist in their efforts to patrol our community. The bicycles have been painted a dark green color and look brand new. The bicycle patrol should be up and running in a month or two, but will first have to undergo some training.
The Koban is also now open on the weekends. There are two officers stationed at the Koban from Wednesday to Sunday 10 am to 6 pm.
Mayor Visits Little Tokyo
On Wednesday, March 19th, Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan and his opponent in the upcoming elections, State Senator Tom Hayden, visited the Little Tokyo community.
Mayor Riordan spent most of his time at the Koreisha Chushoku Kai - the Senior Nutrition Program - at the Union Church, and was able to meet and speak to many senior citizens.
Senator Hayden chose to make his campaign rounds in the Japanese Village Plaza area, meeting many people who were taking their lunch break in Little Tokyo.
