Incredible Woman!
Community Leader Receives Award
Yasuko Sakamoto, the Program Director for the Nikkei Family Counseling Program at the Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC) was honored as one of twenty local women chosen as "Incredible Women Making History" by the YWCA of Greater of Los Angeles.
In 1980, Congress designated the week of March 8th as National Women's History Week, and the YWCA of Greater LA was celebrating Women’s History Month when making this announcement.
She is a founding member of LTSC, and now oversees staff involved with social services and counseling. She too, provides counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups. She is also very active in planning various educational seminars and workshops.
She has been involved in providing Social Services to the Asian American community for over 20 years.
