What will the BID do for Little Tokyo?
Crime and Security
•Koban: supplement current program by providing funds for additional staff.
•Public Safety Patrol: provide funds to increase the patrol to 2 shifts, 8 hours a day, 7 days a week.
•Fund and maintain a surveillance console and monitor with cameras stationed around the area, and also provide for miscellaneous equipment as needed.
Promotions and Events
•Events Bulletin: provide information about, and coordinate planning for, upcoming promotions and events.
•Nisei Week: provide general support and supplemental funds to promote Nisei Week.
•Special Events: begin organizing and funding new events for Little Tokyo.
•Christmas Decorations: provide annual fund to supplement the Christmas decorating program of the LTBA.
•Master Calendar: maintain a master calendar to coordinate events and activities in Little Tokyo.
Marketing
•Parking: establish a committee to oversee existing parking and promote future parking that will benefit the area.
•Business Recruitment and Retention: provide a program to actively recruit new businesses and retain existing businesses.
•Information Center: expand the visitor information center in the Koban.
•Develop a general marketing program for the area.
Clean-up and Beautification
•Coordinate and supervise graffiti removal.
•Sidewalk Cleaning: investigate feasibility of a sidewalk cleaning program.
•Beautification Projects: develop a program for tree and flower planting and maintenance.
Management
•Staff: provide necessary paid staff to help plan, organize and implement the various programs and activities of the BID.
•Committees: organize volunteer committees to plan programs and oversee general operation of the BID.
•Maintain communication with businesses by means of newsletters and bulletins.
•Plan and conduct seminars.
•Maintain liaison with local government and other clubs and organizations.
