Declaration for the Nikkei Community

This is a declaration emanating from the Ties That Bind Conference which attempts to define goals for the Nikkei Community as we enter the 21st Century.

Will there be a Nikkei Community in the future?

Can we help to determine what kind of community it should be?

Do you agree with what was drafted?

Please give us your feedback...

For those who missed the Conference, it was an energizing weekend experience with roughly 500 people attending. From Friday night's performance to the workshops and panels, many voices for the JA community were expressed.

Please check back at this website (www.janet.org) for a summary, evaluation, and declarative statements of what has been accomplished. It is also planned to put the "Directory of Organizations" online, so that it will be available to all.

For those who came to the "Ties That Bind Conference", thank you! The questions, the concerns, the comments, the personal stories shared have contributed to understanding our steps into the future. Many thanks also goes to all the volunteers, conference workshop and session facilitators, speakers and panelists, entertainers, and sponsors and funders for making this all possible.
